Pet Day(Subtitled: Please God No Floaters Til After 3PM)

A paper came home from school about two weeks ago stating that today would be Pet Day.  B was off her rocker over it because she intended to bring Bibbel her fish in.  Her words were a bit of a foreshadowing, "I'm bringing Bibbel in if he doesn't die first!"  She said that so cheery because she knew Bibbel would make the trip.  I thought... Hmmmm... maybe she hasn't inherited my bad luck...?

Maybe.

Maybe not. I wake Saturday morning to Emmy informing me that B is hysterical because Bibbel is dead.

Shitbuckets.  Not the way I like to wake on a morning off.  We took care of him & I told her we'd get more fish before pet day, not to worry. Didn't get them Saturday & I contemplated going on Sunday. I got out of the shower to find notes hanging all over my house.

Alrighty then.  Truth be told I was afraid to get a new Bibbel too soon for fear he not transition to the tank & I have another dead one.  I waited until yesterday before picking the kids up from school.  We are walking the two blocks from school & B is behind me a few feet. I look back & find her like this.

As I  turn this little voice starts saying, "Bibbelllllll. Are you down there???"

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this kid?  She is so truly unique and kind of in her own world. Most definetly a better one that I exist in.

She was thrilled to find 6 new fish when we arrived at home. I seriously spent half the night semi-praying that "Annabelle, Isabelle & sarabelle" would see pet day. Like, please God, no floaters until after 3pm on Tuesday. Thank you, Ruby.  We made it out the door :)

And they made it to school alive :)

Not sure if they'll all be coming home with her...

Puzzle Pieces

This was written about 6 weeks after my ex was locked up last year. He hasn't requested to see his kids in pushing two years now, but stalking, harassing, threatening & vandalizing was A-OK. This explains the last post better.

Under His Thumb.

A year has almost past.  Satan gets released from his cell next week.  Have I been quiet? Yes I have. I'm preparing mentally to function while on gaurd.  To keep my Mace in one pocket, cellphone on me, have eyes all over my head & still carry myself as if nothing is wrong. Have I been noticably absent? Most definetly.  I have spent free spots this past week tightening up things. My PFA.  Filling out a ton of paperwork for an alarm system curtosy of the District Attorney's office. They give out a few a year to women with kids that are considered "at risk" & have already testified against a violent offender once. I have had a meeting with the DA & we together spoke to & voiced concerns to his parole officer.  That guy told me "WHEN he bothers you, because we all know he is GOING to, you call me immediately & I will take care of him." One of the cities detectives is a very close friend. He is available for whatever we need. I've talked to the school because the school is included in my restraining order.  Everyone has his picture & instructions. Actually I think the kids are safer in that building then they are alone with me.  I have spent my week being proactive rather than feeling like a sitting duck victim. Don't get me wrong, I HAVE felt like a sitting duck & I know that I am seriously at risk here. This man is a loose cannon on a good day & always has major anger issues. He took responsibility in court for what he has done but went back to playing the poor me violin once jailed.  In his mind, he is not scary, violent & batshit crazy. No, I have WRONGED him by not allowing it in my house in front of MY kids. So I expect retailiation. Hopefully, they catch him again before anything too bad happens.

RIP Eva

Men Are Predictable

Aren't they? I mean seriously there are certain buttons that when pushed trigger exactly the same reactions every time.

Google Guy & I were swapping emails at warp speed & he made it pretty clear that a run in wouldn't be a bad thing.  I was kind of holding my ground with letting him come to me but as I was in the mall the other day, I saw him. I was in an anchor store, near the front windows & saw him walking across the street heading straight for the stores entrance doors. Well, I'm smart enough to jump on that & turn it into an unintentional, planned collision. I open the door, step out onto the sidewalk just as he is hitting the curb ten feet from me. He's with a female coworker & says hi to me. He takes a step past me & I was unsure, am I being blown off or do I wait a sec. The step past was to open the door for his coworker as he told her maybe he'd see her later.  Then he turned back around to talk to me. He had been out of touch & explained that his computer had crashed mid chat with me a few nights earlier & he hopes to be up & running this weekend. I listened while glancing to confirm the lack of ring on his finger (I know he wore one years ago when married). It was good. Good chemistry, he came across as a sincere, nice guy just as I'd always thought him to be.  He has my nu8mber so... we'll see.

As this conversation is happening & I'm working my best bubbly, nice angle I notice at the intersection smack in front of us, is crushdriver. I saw him but didn't acknowledge because frankly, I have seen him EVERYWHERE in the past two weeks & played oblivious. Shit or get off the pot buddy & in the meantime I have been under his nose repeatedly but entirely out of reach.  So he drives away and when I walk away from that chat I must admit I'm doubly happy. I like Google Guy & I like that crushdriver obviously knew it.  He should realize that no one sits in limbo for anyone for very long.

Later that day my doorbell rings. Guess who? Crushdriver.  I had a really hard time NOT laughing at him. Seriously. I get this irritated man that doesn't have the nerve to directly ask about Google Guy but is clearly motivated by him.

Him: "Why don't you talk to me?? I've seen you everywhere."

Me: "I saw you while talking to Jerry this morning."

Him: "OH you saw me! I'm waving like an asshole & you didn't even acknowledge it"

Me: "I didn't see you wave. I waved to you the other day thought."

Him: "Were you waving or throwing me the finger??"

Me: "You told me I deserve better and I have to believe you know best."

Him: "What do you want??? What do you want from me? What should I do?"

Me: "Huh? You know what you needed to do & always had a million excuses not to."

Him: "Can't you at least be my friend or something?? I need something"

Me: "I am your friend, but I'm not going to trip over my feet to see you. . You can't have it both ways."

Him: "So instead you trip over your feet to avoid me?"

By that time I was laughing. So was he.

So predictable.  Make an effort now why? Because he KNOWS Google Guy & I'd imagine KNOWS he's a good guy. I'm sure I would have heard about it if he wasn't.  It's ok to keep me in limbo until I guess he sees what IS real competition. Yeah, not so much. I was very amused but certainly not won over.

Parade Day

We have one of the largest St. Patty's Day Parades in the country. Just returned home from it & I'm happy to say that it sprinkled thruout the parade but didn't start REALLY raining until awhile ago. The bad stuff held off until the last 5 minutes of the festivities. Luck of the Irish.  I am exhausted. Starbucks, parade with a BFF & our kids, took the kids to eat, stopped at the candy store and now here I sit. I have no energy so I'll give you pics instead.
